Darren Roy Clarke

“A wonderful songwriter.” - Kevin Drew, Broken Social Scene
Dirty Face and a Broken Screen is an absolute work of art.” - Great Dark Wonder

Singer-songwriter Darren Roy Clarke, hailing from Warkworth, Ontario, crafts modern classic folk songs with a voice as intimate as a late-night campfire conversation. His lyrics are rooted in the life he lives: a country dweller, family man, and tradesman who, after surviving a near-fatal workplace accident, knew he couldn’t wait any longer to share the music he’s always carried inside.

Darren’s reputation as a “musician’s musician” continues to grow. He’s shared stages across Ontario with revered Canadian acts like Broken Social Scene, The Sadies, Good Lovelies, Great Lake Swimmers, and more.

Known for his honest, heartfelt storytelling, Darren explores themes ranging from mental health to the universal pull of wanderlust. His songs are humble, human, and deeply resonant - perfect companions for quiet nights, long drives, and moments of reflection.

Currently touring and opening for artists such as Cuff the Duke and Ron Sexsmith, Darren has just completed his anticipated follow-up album with acclaimed Halifax producer Daniel Ledwell (Jenn Grant).
